A deep cleaning, also known as scaling and root planing, is a non-invasive measure of preventing the progression of periodontal disease. A deep cleaning goes beneath the gum line to remove plaque, bacteria, and other toxins from areas that brushing and flossing cannot reach, reducing the risk of disease advancement. A regular cleaning does not require the dentist or hygienist to go below the gum line; therefore, the procedure does not eliminate the cause of disease if it is present.

We use the latest generation of dental cleaning equipment, Piezo electric, for our deep cleaning. Piezo electric is significantly more effective that the older machines, Cavitron, and removes more tartar with less discomfort.
We also offer advanced technology, like laser, as an adjunct to deep cleaning. Laser treatment can help areas with deep pockets which do not respond to deep cleaning. Laser is designed to target the disease causing bacteria in the pocket and disinfect your mouth. Lastly, we use antibacterial solutions inside the pocket to end your treatment. These solutions increase the success and longevity of your treatment.
